Unique Chief Financial Officer
We are searching for a unique individual to be CFO with our privately held, progressive family agriculture operation in northern Wisconsin. Due to extensive growth, multiple enterprises, and CEO setting up company for long term success, a NEW position has been created to become his "right hand person" for operational and financial excellence! As a key member of the executive leadership team, this position will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the financial health and success of the organization, while advancing their career in a challenging and rewarding environment. The company has very good, strong banking relationships as well as external CPA advisory, but needs an “in-house" person to be lead.
Mandatory "office" requirements at company headquarters, NOT a remote position!
Reporting directly to the CEO, this position will be responsible for:
- Financial Strategy: Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with organizational goals, ensuring Maximum Return on company assets and long-term sustainability and growth.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead in the budgeting process, monitoring financial performance, and providing accurate forecasting to support decision-making.
- Financial Reporting: Oversee timely and accurate financial reporting, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to stakeholders, CEO and BOD.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and implementing internal controls.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with executive leadership, department heads/managers, to align financial initiatives with operational objectives.
- Compliance and Audit: Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards (GAAP and Cash Basis), coordinating audit activities and implementing corrective measures as needed.
- Barrowing base reporting, coordinate with the CEO monthly with reporting, on working capital (assets and liabilities) and money flow.
- Oversee and manage accounting and admin team: data, accounts receivable, accounts payable: landing and making sure invoices are approved and paid.
- Analytics: work closely with CEO and BOD to review ALL potential projects/partnerships/opportunities for growth that are being presented to the organization.
- Advise and assist in input/output risk management through market trends analysis, futures contracts, LTA's, supply side contracts, etc.
A successful candidate for this CFO position will possess the following:
- MINIMUM of Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
- Solid career progression and extensive experience (8+ years) in financial leadership roles (Sr. Controller or CFO level) within the agriculture or food industry, preferably with multiple divisional/entity/location type system, Livestock background and understanding of dynamic inventory management a plus!
- Proven track record of strategic financial management, budgeting, and financial analysis, proforma project projections, 5 and 10 yr strategic plan development.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to diverse stakeholders/members and CEO.
- Strong people and team leadership abilities, with a collaborative and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving, coaching/mentoring and staff development.
- Highest level of integrity, ethics, confidentiality and professionalism.
Compensation: Compensation will be based on skills and experience and will be a combination of base and bonus and will range from $125 to $175K.
