Precision Agriculture Specialist - Kansas
We are seeking a Precision Agriculture Specialist to join our team in Central Kansas. In this role, you will play a crucial part in promoting and implementing advanced precision agriculture technologies and practices among local farmers and producers. Your responsibilities will include working with sales teams, conducting in-field scouting, and collaborating with producers to optimize their farming operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Support:
- Collaborate with the sales teams to identify potential clients and warm leads interested in adopting precision agriculture technologies.
- Provide product knowledge and technical expertise to assist in the sales process.
- Conduct follow-ups with potential customers to address inquiries and nurture relationships.
In-Field Scouting:
- Perform regular in-field scouting to assess crop health, identify issues (e.g., pests, diseases), and gather data for decision-making.
- Utilize advanced technologies, such as drones and sensors, for data collection and analysis.
- Generate reports and recommendations based on in-field observations to optimize crop management.
Precision Agriculture Implementation:
- Work closely with producers and farmers to understand their specific needs and challenges.
- Tailor precision agriculture solutions to meet the unique requirements of individual farm operations.
- Assist in the deployment and integration of technology, including robotics, for improved field operations.
Training and Support:
- Provide training and support to farmers in Central Kansas on the use of precision agriculture equipment and software.
- Offer ongoing assistance to ensure successful adoption and utilization of these technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Knowledge of precision agriculture technologies, including GPS guidance, sensors, drones, and data analytics.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with sales teams and producers.
- Experience in in-field scouting and data collection is a plus.
- Understanding of the agriculture industry in Central Kansas.
