This role will be responsible for:
- Conducting trading activities to optimize profitability.
- Managing grain origination and overseeing profit and loss for the grain elevator.
- Executing hedging strategies and monitoring cash grain positions.
- Maintaining key customer relationships and ensuring superior customer service.
- Supporting the maintenance of the grain warehouse license and associated requirements.
Expectations will include:
- Building and maintaining strong partnerships with customers, farmers, and internal stakeholders.
- Analyzing market trends and conditions to identify and leverage opportunities.
- Facilitating open communication with accounting and operational teams to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Responding to customer inquiries and providing accurate market information in a timely manner.
- Collaborating with sales and operations to align market intelligence with strategic goals.
A qualified candidate will possess the following:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 8 years in ag-business, commodity trading, or a related field with a strong analytical foundation.
- Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite; experience with Power BI and CBOT trading is a plus.
- Knowledge: Basic accounting, sales, and negotiation skills, along with familiarity with market values, pricing, and margins.
- Travel: Ability to travel up to 10%.
Compensation: $95K+ DOE
