This role will be responsible for:

  • Commodity Purchasing & Sales: Procuring corn and selling distillers grains both in-person and over the phone.
  • Market Analysis: Monitoring market conditions, supply and demand, and competitive trends to optimize strategies.
  • Inventory Management: Managing inventory levels for DDGS, ethanol, and corn oil while ensuring timely customer communication.
  • Relationship Development: Building and maintaining strong supplier and customer relationships through effective communication and trust-building efforts.
  • Contract Oversight: Entering and managing purchase and sales contracts in accounting systems.

Expectations will include:

  • Operational Excellence: Support corn unloading, grading, and arbitrage trades to ensure seamless operations.
  • Strategic Insights: Provide timely updates on CBOT trends, USDA reports, and market forecasts to inform decisions.
  • Customer Engagement: Visit farms and deliver presentations to producers to grow business volume.
  • Collaboration: Work with leadership to identify opportunities, manage risks, and drive business growth.
  • Administrative Precision: Maintain accurate records and complete assigned tasks diligently.

A qualified candidate will possess the following:

  • Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in Ag Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven Experience: At least 3 years of experience in grain marketing with a deep understanding of grain contracts and marketing alternatives.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and an aptitude for learning new systems.
  • Personal Traits: Hardworking, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and integrity.
  • Strong Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present to groups and maintain professional relationships.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Logical thinker with exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
