This role will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing comprehensive procurement strategies for grain and other commodity inputs to align with business objectives.
  • Overseeing the marketing and sales of co-products, including distillers grains, germ, bran syrup, and wet-cake, to maximize revenue.
  • Establishing and maintaining supplier relationships to secure reliable, high-quality inputs.
  • Monitoring market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply chain dynamics to inform strategic decisions.
  • Leading and mentoring the commodities team to foster a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

Expectations will include:

  • Executing strategies to identify and capitalize on new market opportunities.
  • Collaborating with finance, production, logistics, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Developing risk mitigation strategies to protect the plant’s profitability and operational continuity.
  • Preparing and presenting detailed reports on market conditions, procurement activities, and key performance metrics to executive leadership.
  • Driving innovation and efficiency in supply chain management and marketing initiatives.

A qualified candidate will possess the following:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business, agriculture, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in commodities procurement, supply chain management, or a related field, preferably in agriculture or ethanol production.
  • Proven leadership abilities and a track record of building high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with an understanding of market dynamics and risk management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for farm visits.

Compensation: Varies, depending on experience, but base salary can range from $100 - $160K

Benefits: Full benefits + 20% bonus eligibility
