Business Development Manager - West

As a Business Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in developing and executing regional sales and marketing plans to drive growth. You will introduce cutting-edge technologies and increase our presence with our primary partner and distributor in this region. The goal with this role is to grow the business with our primary business partner.

This Role Will Be Responsible For:

  • Developing and implementing regional business plans in collaboration with regional marketing and sales management teams.
  • Identifying and fulfilling the needs of divisions in conjunction with sales managers.
  • Planning, developing, and executing business plans with key stakeholders within the region.
  • Delivering product presentations to support commercial relationship development.
  • Maintaining and communicating results from key regional meetings and activities.
  • Coordinating technical marketing, business management, and other resources to execute account plans.
  • Identifying specific actionable needs for new products and applications.
  • Overseeing requirements for annual product field trials and research.
  • Identifying and forwarding third-party opportunities to the Director of Sales.

A successful candidate for this Business Development Manager role will possess the following:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in strategic business development, networking, key account management, and sales and/or marketing roles within the agriculture industry.
  • A strong working knowledge of agronomic systems, practices, applications, and supporting technologies.
  • Proven proficiency in strategic business development and key account sales and management.
  • Strong business communication skills, both oral and written, with exceptional presentation abilities.
  • A solid understanding of the organic market and a commitment to dedicating significant sales efforts to this segment.
  • A willingness to travel frequently and engage with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 50% of the time to meet with clients and stakeholders.
  • The ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives.
  • Proven experience in communicating effectively through strong oral, written, and presentation skills, while demonstrating strong leadership.

Compensation: Salary is dependent upon experience but the company is targeting a range of $125K - $160K base for this position plus a generous bonus plan.

Benefits: This company offers flexible reimbursement for the candidate's own health, dental, and vision plans. A 401K, vehicle allowance and paid time off.

Desired Location: The territory covers the Western United States with the bulk of existing business being in California and Arizona. A successful candidate must reside in the territory and have the ability to travel at least 50% time to the major markets.
